IT FOR YOURSELF
The Island of Bali is bordered
by the Indian Ocean to her South, the Lombok Strait to her east,
and the Bali Sea to her North. Bali is surrounded by deep, clear,
rich waters and being in the tropics, the waters around Bali are
warm year-round, ranging between 26 to 30 degrees Celsius. With
the exception of Lembongan Island way out in the Lombok Strait,
most of Bali's dive sites are near calm waters with mild or almost
non-existent currents.
Bali's dive sites are located on either her east shore facing the
Lombok Strait, or her northern shore, facing the Bali Sea.I'S
BEST DIVE LOCATIONS
Bali has a well developed dive industry with over 80 operators serving
diving. enthusiasts. Unfortunately nearly all of them are located
in the tourist belt in the south (Kuta, Nusa Dua and Sanur ) which
obliges divers to endure trips of several hours a day to get to
the dive sites in the east and north and back. Not so when you stay
and dive with MIMPI RESORTS BALI, Bali's Premier Dive Resorts. The
MIMPITULAMBEN and MIMPI MENJANGAN DIVE CENTRES AND SPAS are both
located on Bali's northern shore with some of Bali's most exciting
dive sites literally at their doorsteps.AFE
& ENJOYABLE DIVING
Mimpi Resort Tulamben and Mimpi Resort Menjangan both have integrated
on site PADI dive centres and are members of PIRA (PADI International
Resort Association). Carefully maintained, state of the art dive
equipment and guaranteed clean air make diving at Mimpi Resorts
a safe and enjoyable experience. Your dive guides will be professional,
well trained PADI instructors or dive masters. At both resorts you
can learn how to dive according the PADI system of diver education
- from entry level open Water Diver certification all the way up
to the Dive Master rating. The dive professionals at Mimpi Resorts
are from Indonesia, England, France, Switzerland and Japan
and speak a multitude of languages.
At The Mimpi Resort Jimbaran
Bay, a small dive shop with equipment caters to guests who would
like to spend more time in the busy Kuta - Jimbaran - Nusa dua area
and complete their confined water training sessions there, and then
move on to either Tulamben or Menjangan for their open water dives.N
The Mimpi Resort Tulamben is located on the waters edge, literally
steps away from some of Bali's most exciting diving. There is a
WWII ship wreck, the USS LIBERTY, drop offs, walls and thousands
of swirling jacks. Friendly critters ready to pose include ghost
pipe fish, angler fish, sea horses, gobies, blennies, long nosed
hawkfish and incalculable species of nudibranchs, cowries and many
more rare crustaceans. Tulamben is the favorite location of Gerry
Allan, Roger Steene and Michael Aw. In fact, many of their published
photographs were captured at Mimpi Tulamben's door step. As well,
world famous National Geographic photographer David Doubilet spent
over 20 days photographing the area you will be diving.
Staying at The Mimpi Resort Tulamben, you will be diving the USS
LIBERTY ship wreck early in the morning, before other divers have
been on it and the water is not yet silted up and the big fish are
still out waiting for your visit. The wall in front of the resort
with its unique 3 meter diameter purple gorgonian fan and an enormous
variety of soft and hard corals, huge barrel sponges and millions
of fish, including the occasional pelagic, are another easy shore
dive away.
Other dive sites in the area include "Sharkey's Point" a 5
minute boat ride away where you may see the timid white tip reef
shark. The two famous reefs of Amed are a 12 minute boat ride away.
For the more adventurous new, yet undiscovered, and exhilarating
outings further away can be arranged by our experienced Mimpi dive
crew.
